The Meridith Marks Award for Excellence in Education Recipient – Dr. Audrey Yap
The Meridith Marks Award for Excellence in Education was developed by the Canadian Physiatrists Research and Development Foundation (CPRDF) and Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (CAPM&R) to recognize excellence in education among physiatrists.
The Award is named in honour of Dr. Meridith Marks to acknowledge her significant contributions to medical education in Canada.
The recipient of this award will be a CAPM&R member in good standing who has contributed to education within the CAPM&R, as well as to medical education at a local and national level.

Audrey Yap, MScCH (HPTE), M.D. FRCPC
Audrey is the PM&R Education Lead at
Bridgepoint Hospital, Toronto, ON. She is one of the academic half-day coordinators for their Physiatry residency program and has made substantial changes to this program. Some of these changes have included case rounds, peer to peer clinical skills practice, and interactive teaching sessions. These changes have been well received by the residents.
She also has been working on her academic interests in the area of accessibility. She created a new seminar on this which she has presented to interprofessional students at Bridgepoint which has been highly rated.
